We can’t expect Windows 11 to have every single Driver for every device in the world to be included in the installation Package. We could see this in the uprising of the Mini PCs, in which I wrote articles for downloading the Drivers of the main players such as GMKtec, BOSGAME, MINISFORUM and Beelink.

Recently I worked with a Dell 2-1 Laptop with modern Chipset, AI Processors and other devices. And although Dell does an excellent job at providing both support and Drivers, right after a fresh install of Windows 11, many drivers, including the basic Network drivers which could allow you to download others, were missing.

The 1st Step in obtaining Drivers for Dell PCs is finding your Service Tag Number or Serial Number. This can be easily done by running a PowerShell window, and using either of the following commands, which will give you a single line Output:

Get-CimInstance Win32_BIOS | Select-Object SerialNumber

Get-WmiObject win32_bios | select SerialNumber

(Get-CimInstance Win32_BIOS).SerialNumber

Once you obtain the Service Tag – head over to Dell’s Support page, type in your Product Identifier (Service Tag) and proceed to download your Drivers. For this Laptop in Particular, Dell 14 Plus 2-in-1 DB04255, the Unknown Drivers were detected and installed below. Keep in mind that the majority of the AMD Devices are installed by the AMD Chipset Drivers, which were also available at Dell’s support page for this laptop.
